Gotta love the Maryland State Fair!

It’s truly something I look forward to every year!  I’ve had the pleasure of going for the past couple of years and I love it everytime!  The MD State Fair comes to the state fairgrounds in TImonium towards the end of August and runs for about a week and a half.

They have some ride specials you can take advantage of, so it’s a little easier on the pocket.  They have all you can ride wristbands (available on certain days) that you can purchase for only $20.  Last Thursday evening they had their Ridemania special – all you can ride for $15.  Keep in mind you have to pay an $8 admission fee to enter the fair.  If you buy individual tickets you can buy them each for a $1.  Honestly, if you go on 5 or 6 rides, the wristband is absolutely worth it!  If you’re with a large group, you can purchase the tickets in advance and save even more money.

They have great rides like the Zipper, Ring of Fire, Typhoon, Tilt-a-whirl, Musik Express and of course a couple of ferris wheels!  If you’re not into the ride scene, then you can go to the livestock shows and take a look at the animals, play games, or even go to the expo they have.  There are plenty of food options – pizza, nachos, burgers, turkey legs, and of course crab cakes (oh so Baltimore!)

The fair is great fun for all.  You can go with a loved one, the kids, or even take some relatives that are from out of town!  It’s great to have something so spectacular right in our backyard.  You’ll definitely see me there next year!
